Here are some pictures from the spring fling dance last week!

St. Patrick's Day

I thought it would be hard to "catch" a leprechaun when we had already tried so hard to catch him last year, but I was wrong!    The kids wrote all about how to catch a leprechaun then built traps in groups to set out.  Alas, no leprechaun was caught, but he did leave us a rainbow cake to snack on. 

Monday morning everyone was checking out their traps to see if they had caught one.  We of course only got his pants and hats.

After snacking on some fruit, we got to keep the leprechaun hats that the fruit came in.  We then got mathematical. Not only did we sort the marshmallows in a Lucky Charm box.... we counted ALL of the oat pieces.  Over 3,000 in all!

The next day we used SKYPE to talk to a first grade in Alabama to compare their box of cereal to ours.

Read Across America

We had plans to Skype with our pen pals in Missouri, but the weather spoiled it.  Since they had a snow day, Mrs. Cantrell was nice enough to Skype from her house (in her jammies too) and read us 2 stories.  We can't wait to talk to our pen pals again, but we had a great time with our special guest reader and her 2 daughters.
