Caterpillars

Our monarch caterpillars have arrived. We are watching them carefully to see the changes. With any luck in a few weeks we will have a few chrysalises and then hopefully some butterflies!

Busy making sets

Here are a few shots of us busy at work making sets for the play.

Our Big Performance

Do not miss our big performance of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We will be performing it on May 25 at 9:15 in the Carroll School cafeteria. Hope to see you there!

Measuring

We started to talk about measuring and did an activity that measured us and a friend. Each team used "bird" squares to measure each other and then compare who was taller or shorter. After we compared our answers, we predicted how many birds tall Mrs. Hewitt would be. Since I was only 14 birds tall, some children's measurements were not quite accurate. (Some wrote they were 11 or 12 birds tall) It was a good way to begin learning about measuring.

Zoo Pictures

There are some zoo pictures in the class photo section.... There will be some better photos in the slide show at the end of the year as well.

Glue Sticks

Unfortunately, a student took out the very last glue stick today :( I am in need of some glue sticks so I am asking for help! If at all possible, if each student could bring 1 or 2 big glue sticks in, we might be able to share until the end of the year. The small ones seem to only be good for a few projects before running out. Any help would be appreciated.
