100 Day Olympics

We started the 100th day with 4 teams competing.  Team Germany, Japan, China, and France. The first event was the cup building. Team France built the highest tower in the shortest amount of time.  Every one did a great job working together as a team. 

 

 

Next, we had a Math Minute...

while 5 minutes.  

Each team got points for every math

 problem they answered correctly. 

Although we did not finish the third event, it did require team work.  The idea was to build a sculpture with 100 mini marshmallows.  It turned out too hard to get it to stay together without falling.

Valentine's Day

For the second year in a row, Valentine's Day and the 100th day of school landed on the SAME day.  We have postponed our 100th day Olympics for after vacation.  We had fun passing out our cards and talking to our SKYPE pals in Missouri.  We got to "meet" our penpals and look forward to talking to them again after vacation.

Chinese New Year

 I promised the kids we would use chopsticks and brought popcorn for them to use the chopsticks with.  A few of the kids guilted me into bringing noodles in as well, (just like last year).

Indoor Recess

We are dying for the weather to get better so we can play with all our donated playground equipment.  We got about $600 worth of balls, frisbees, skippers, parachutes and ball bags.  Thanks to Donor's Choose and Dream Big for sponsoring us!
