They did these fantastic Hot Cocoa Mugs with Mrs. Liberti.
We compared our last names by making snowmen. We used one snowball for each letter in our last name. Some had really TALL snowmen!
We made these lanterns to celebrate Chinese New Year.

My Missing Camera
Don't you just hate when you can't find something? I of course misplaced my school camera. Panic set in because I have pictures on it from class that I needed for our end of year slide show. Mrs. Hewitt is always telling others to back up important photos and I broke the rule myself! Thankfully as I was getting in the car last night I happened to look between the seats and there it was! First order of business when I get into school today- back the photos up!
IN the meantime...here are some of the pictures from Chinese New Year.
These are our fabulous hand dragons to celebrate the Year of the Dragon!
We ate noodles with chopsticks while watching some Lion Dances and other Chinese dances on the smartboard.

The 100th Day of School
It's hard to believe that we are at day 100 already. I think if we are not careful, we will blink and it will be over. We had lots of fun today. We made a snack with 100 pieces in it, rolled a dice 100 times, flipped a coin 100 times and even predicted where we would wind up if we took one hundred steps.

We are getting really good at using the Smart Board for all different subjects. Here are a few shots-
Recent Artwork from our Bulletin Boards
This is our snowman each unique and created totally by the students without any stencils.
These are our snow globes inspired by the story, "The Snow Globe Family"
These are cards we received while participating in the Holiday Card Exchange. We sent 24 and got 24 back from across the USA.
January is flying by!
It is really hard to believe that January is almost over. Not to mention that today was the 91'st day of school. Only 9 more until our giant 100th day celebration. I will be sending more information home about our 100 day projects that the children will complete at home. We have begun Writer's Workshop and the room has been remarkably quiet while the children are writing! We also have been becoming "SMART" board whizzes... our whole morning meeting is done interactively now. I can't wait for people to see it. I am now going to attempt to add some pictures to the blog so you can see artwork and goings ons!
